If you are looking for a self-care ritual to help you spring forward into the new season, this hydrating avocado face mask is a treat for the skin. Better yet, the mask is completely natural, and you probably already have the ingredients to make it at home. Pour a glass of wine and enjoy!
Hydrating Avocado Face Mask
Omega-3s and Vitamin B from the avocado nourish and brighten the complexion, while honey has a number of antibacterial properties to help even skin tone. Yogurt has a cooling effect on the face, and olive oil is naturally extra hydrating. Finally, the lemon juice will keep the avocado from oxidizing and turning brown over time.
Yield: 1-2 masks
½ ripe avocado
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon plain organic yogurt
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 tablespoon honey
- Mash the avocado in a bowl until it is soft. Add the remaining ingredients and mix until you have a smooth paste.
- Apply the mask to your face using your fingers or a brush. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse off or remove gently with a damp towel.
